World Heritage: Global Challenges, Local Solutions

I ventured to Ironbridge to attend a four-day conference on issues relating to UNESCO World Heritage status and sites. Bermuda was in the spotlight with a paper on public archaeology in St. George's—Bermuda's only WH site—by Paul Belford, archaeologist at Ironbridge Archaeology who has led Bermuda National Trust excavations and surveys at Verdmont, Government House and historic shipyards.
